Guinea-Bissau: Featured on Global Voices Podcast

The Global Voices podcast has returned, and Rising Voices is currently one of the featured segments. During our recent visit to the new grantee project “Youth Voices of Bandim and Enterramento” in Guinea-Bissau, we recorded a short piece of audio of the women's singing group called the Manjuandadi. It is this group, sponsored by the cultural group “Netos de Bandim,” which will participate in some of the workshops focusing on the use of citizen media, such as digital photography and audio recording. [Podcast] Bolivian Voices Day

On April 19, at eight different sites throughout six Bolivian cities, Voces Bolivianas will host Bolivian Voices Day, a one-day synchronized event that will train dozens of Bolivians how to start their own blogs and participate in both the national and global online conversations.

In this podcast with Voces Bolivianas founder, Eduardo Ávila, we hear about the closing ceremony of the workshop series in Santa Cruz as well as why Voces Bolivianas decided to organize a one-day training at various sites around the country.

Voces Bolivianas Featured on BBC's The World

Voces Bolivianas, one of the first five recipients of a Rising Voices citizen media outreach award, was featured yesterday on the BBC program, The World. In the four minute feature Ruxandra Guidi interviews project facilitator Mario Duran and Voces Bolivianas participant and Aymara translator, Dora Romero.
