I'm constantly amazed by the passion and energy that comes out of the RV grantees, and I'd like to extend my congratulations to everyone involved for making 2008 a memorable year. Thanks to your blogs, videos and podcasts, I was given the unique opportunity to learn more about your lives. Making such a personal connection to incredible people around the world is a true gift, and I feel privileged to have been granted the chance to achieve this. Thanks to Rising Voices, we were able to reach places that would have not made a blip on the radar of the Malagasy sphere otherwise. As we brace for another projected rough cyclonic season, more regions are now "connected" and aware of the critical value of their media input and this has an invaluable impact for real-time reports and the ability for others to contribute effectively to relief in times of need. I assume that there are many more groups that would benefit from the spotlight provided by Rising Voices and the wealth of connections it generates. So I am glad to see that other projects in addition to the grantees are being highlighted here. Best wishes to all in 09. I will just add a small comment to this comprehensive review.
