HiperBarrio is an outreach collective of Colombian bloggers who have teamed up with local libraries to host new media workshops in the city's working class neighborhoods.

Pablo Flores of the OLPC project in Uruguay is organizing four workshops around the country to teach young students how to blog with their XO laptops. 
FrontAIDS
The FrontAIDS project based in St. Petersburg, Russia uses citizen media to monitor accessibility to treatment for people living with HIV, AIDS, hepatitis, and TB in 20 regions around Russia. 
Iran Inside Out
Veteran Iranian videobloggers have partnered with the local film clubs in Iran to identify aspiring young filmmakers and teach them how to distribute their works online. 
AIDS Rights Congo
AIDS Rights Congo trains communication officers from local AIDS organizations in digital story telling, podcasting, and the creation of blogs to document the stigma and discrimination of people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in Congo. Rising Voices is a Global Voices project supported by the Knight Foundation and OSI.

The music is so fun. The idea of placing blogging workshops in misrepresented but growing cities/regions is really interesting. Just because there is a strong presence of bloggers there it would spontaneously bring more and more informations and exchanges between the groups, the blogosphere and even in the web.
